A Hymn of Home and Hopefulness

Does your heart often feel homesick?

Is your spirit grieved by sin?

Listen, hear creation groaning

“Come further up and further in”

For each sunrise tells the story

Of a King who promised rest

The light of dawn, it sings a hymn

Of home and hopefulness

Does the darkness make you lonely?

Do you know you don’t belong?

Listen, hear the Father whisper

“Fight the shadows with a song.”

Come pilgrim, join the chorus

Come traveler, be refreshed

With joyful voice, we’ll sing a hymn

Of home and hopefulness

Do you taste the hope of heaven?

Has this weary world grown dim?

Listen, hear the Savior say

“Well done, child. Welcome in.”

For though this world is broken

We have a King who conquered death

Our final breath becomes a hymn

Of home and hopefulness

Do you feel the death of longing?

Do you finally know you’re home?

Listen, hear the King say

“I have loved you all along.”

Come, behold his glory

Come, enter into rest

For endless days, we’ll sing a hymn

Of home and hopefulness
